Edgewater
Technologies Selects Coastar Marketing as Marine Representative
Firm.
November 13, 2006
Oakland Park, Florida – Edgewater Technologies, Inc., recognized as
a leader in wireless anti-theft technologies, has teamed with
Coastar Marketing, Inc. to help build a distribution network for its
innovative onboard wireless security and monitoring systems.
"We're proud to be able to bring this much needed technology to the
marine marketplace" said Brad Good, Coastar President. "Safety and
security of vessels has never been more important than now and with
the unique wireless implementation of their Edgewater's' Marine
Magellan™ product line, vessel owners and captains can be notified
of not only vessel trespassing but also unexpected vessel movements.
Various alarm data is sent via cell phone or satellite phone to
virtually any other phone or phones via the onboard GSM SIM card.
Alarm notifications can delivered as voice messages to other phones
or may also be sent as text messages via EVDO to virtually any
computer. "
Unlike other security and monitoring systems that take terrestrial
home alarm applications and try adapt them to marine applications,
Magellan was designed from the waterline-up to work on boats.
Including high-water sensors, GPS vessel tracking systems, and the
ability to control up to 8 vessel functions remotely, such as
turning on refrigeration and air conditioning systems and operating
security lights and door locks make the Marine Magellan security and
monitoring system specifically suited for the yacht and boat owner.
"Coastar
Marketing brings a unique mix of sales and technical talent to our
marine marketing efforts," said Marc Curreri, Edgewater President.
"With Coastar covering the major marine electronics dealers and
yacht markets throughout the Southeast US, we expect to experience
significant growth in a relatively short period of time."
Not only does the Edgewater Technologies' Marine Magellan system
communicate with the outside world through wireless technology, the
various alarm sensors and detectors also communicate with the
central alarm controller wirelessly on the vessel through 433MhZ RF
signal making installation super-simple with very few wires to run
throughout the boat but Marine Magellan also uses rolling encoded
frequency so the systems is always secure unto itself.
